What to Expect

Hoi An was major Asia trading port in 16 th-17th centuries. The town was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999 and many of the original houses and other features of Hoi An have been preserved. Hoi An is one of the few places you will still find genuine Vietnamese architecture, but is also a harmonious integration of other architectural styles influenced by the Japanese and Chinese traders who settled there in the past. Below is some day trips for your discovery this ancient town. Below is some day trip packages for your references

Itinerary

Day 1Hoi An day trip

Package 1: HALF DAY MY SON TOUR
Depart at 8.00 am or 13 pm from your hotel to My Son, a World Heritage site, 40 km southwest of Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son was a capital and religious center of Cham people, with red brick towers and sanctuaries, considered to be in the same league as some of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor-Wat in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. These towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7 to 13 centuries. Finish tour at your hotel.

Package 02: FULL DAY CITY & MY SON TOUR
In the morning, take a private car from Hoi An Town to My Son Holy Land. Back to Hoi An for lunch. After the relax, it is light excursion to go around tiny town of Hoi An for city tour: 400 years old Japanese Bridge, 300 years old Chinese temple, 200 years old Vietnamese former merchants’ house. Tour end at about 16.30 pm.

Package 03: VIETNAM LIFE IN HOI AN

A great time to discover daily life at a Lantern making workshop and Tra Que Village.

Depart from your hotel at 9:00 am, take a bicycle ride to a craftsman’s house in an old street of Hoi An. Learn about the daily life of Hoi An people and see how they make lanterns. You can make one by yourself and keep it as a souvenir. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue biking to Tra Que Vegetable Village, walk around a vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing the land, fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake, raking, sowing, watering greens, picking greens and many more gardening activities. Then spend the rest time to learn how to prepare ‘Tam Huu’ spring roll & banh xeo with your host.
Ride back to your hotel by bike. End of tour.

Package 04: COOKING CLASS IN HOI AN

Come to the Hai Scout Café to meet the Chef. Then go buy the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. After the market visit, you board a Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Thu Bon River to the Red Bridge Cooking School.
On arrival, explore the school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoian’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes, which are a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. The cooking lesson lasts about 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chefs, before you prepare the same dish by yourself. The class also contains a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and eat what we have cooked. Then the boat will take you back to Hoi An Town. End of tour.
