What to Expect

This cultural tour was designed for visitor who stop over in South of Vietnam with limited times. Visitor will have half day city tours of Ho Chi Minh city, discover Mekong delta which is known as the rice bowl of Vietnam.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival – Ho Chi Minh City

You are welcomed by our guide at Tan Son Nhat airport and then be transferred to your hotel in the center of city. Half day city tour visit Reunification Palace, War Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral with the passing by Ben Thanh market. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2Mekong Delta (B/L)

In the morning, take 2 hour drive southwest of Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta which is known as the rice bowl of Vietnam. Upon arrival, take a boat cruise along islets and tropical orchards through the canal of Vam Xep to reach a small islet, followed by a relaxing walk along shady and palm fringed trails passing by local villages where you can see their peaceful daily life. Stop en route to sip special tea with honey and sample fruits with a local family and share their stories of life in the Mekong Delta. They will guide you on a walk through their orchard and explain how tropical fruits are grown. Then continue the journey with a paddled sampan through the narrow, tree-lined canals of Mekong River. Enjoy lunch at the islet then visit handicraft villages and a coconut candy factory before returning on shore for driving back to Ho Chi Minh City.

On the way back to Ho Chi Minh city we would like to suggest a stop to visit one of the followings (choose one place only)
+ Dong Tam snake farm – is a center for breeding snakes producing venom for exportation and an ecological zoo where different genes of rare & precious animals in the Southern area are conserved. There is a museum of almost all species of pythons and snakes in Vietnam. The farm has a collection of mutant turtles and fish on exhibit.
+ Vinh Trang Pagoda – an ancient southern architectural gem. Built in 1849, the structure is a harmonious mixture of Asian and European architecture including elements from the Renaissance period, Romanesque style, French decorative flowers and Japanese enameled tile. There are many specious statues made of wood, among which was a collection of 18 Bodhisattvas sculpted in 1907, representing the summit in sculpture in the Mekong River plains.
+ Cao Dai Temple in My Tho that is a combination of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism.
