3 Hours Before Flight Time
This itinerary was design for visitor to love hard trek to discover North east of Vietnam. Firstly, Visitor can discover Ba Be National Park and stay in home stay of Tay people. visitor will have long trek in Cao Bang which is located in Vietnam’s rugged North near the Chinese border. It is home to nine different ethnic minorities including the Tay, Nung, Dao and Hmong. This exciting new trek brings us in to contact with several of these fascinating and colorful peoples. We spend 4 full days for Cao Bang trek to exploring the dramatic countryside in and around Cao Bang and are the guests of the Tay and Red Dao tribes.
Depart Hanoi early in the morning; we’ll head north 270 km toward Ba Be Lake. Along the way we’ll make a stop at the Thai Nguyen Ethnology Museum before arriving at our guest house in Ba Be. (L, D)
After breakfast from our guesthouse, we’ll drive a short distance to the jetty where we’ll board our private boat for a cruise on the lake. Cave visiting. Tonight, we’ll spend in Pac Ngoi village of the Tay minority people. (B, L, D)
This morning, we’ll take the road again for the 90 km drive to Cao Bang. Here the Hmong, Zao, Tho and Nung ethnic minority people all live in harmony. After lunch, we will visit Pac Po Cave, the hideout used by Ho Chi Minh under the war. Late afternoon, we’ll back to Cao Bang and spend the night at a Hotel (B, L, D)
We’ll drive to the Ta Lung border near China where we have lunch. Later, we’ll begin our trek with a 15 km walk to the Tay village of La where we will stay overnight in a home stay. (B, L, D)
Today we’ll trek from La village to Na Mieng village, another Tay community which is nestled in a beautiful valley amidst a dramatic mountain range. Enjoy your peaceful night in Na Mieng. (B, L, D)
Another serious day’s trekking through several minority hamlets. We’ll stop for lunch at the village of Dong Khe before venturing on to the Red Dao settlement of Pac Khoang. (B, L, D)
Our final full day of trekking brings us to the Tay village of Na Pang, a 17 km hike. We will stay overnight in the Tay village. Tay is the most populous of the hill tribes. (B, L, D)
We’ll leave our hosts this morning and trek for a further 12 km until we reach the village of That Khe. After lunch in the village, we’ll meet up with our vehicle which will transport us back to Hanoi. (B)
